I have wanted Hoosier and Bibi to have their own book since the start of this series and this book didn’t disappoint. They have an epic kind of love like Isaac and Lili in the Horde series but Bibi and Isaac are a different couple , in some ways they are a little rougher around the edges. But they have the passionate, ride or die kind of love. It was great seeing how they got together and while I knew they had some struggles from hints from earlier books, when you read about all of the obstacles they’ve had to overcome and all of the tragedies they’ve had to weather, you realize how truly remarkable their love is. I always liked Bibi but this book makes her my favorite heroine by far, Bibi is like the energizer bunny, she can take a licking and keep on ticking. Thru all if the ups and downs of their lives, their love never wavers. There are times when each of them suffers a tragedy that is so awful that you wonder if they can survive it mentally, but both Bibi and Hoosier’s love pulls the other one thru. This book is less violent but there is more emotional anguish as we watching them recover from some pretty intense tragedies. I don’t know how she does it, but the author makes each story fell fresh and different and the quality of her writing never wavers. Can’t wait to read the next book!Product details

I have been drawn to Bibi and Hooj’s characters since I started reading this series. I guess I’m showing my age here but I can so relate to a couple from the 70’s who have withstood the test of time, heartaches, good times and bad times. Bibi and Hooj embody the couple who were wild in their youth but stayed together many years while their love grew and solidified to where they were their own universe. They loved their family both blood and club members but as a couple they were a unit, one dependent upon the other to make their life complete. I could really put Bibi and Hooj’s struggles into a personal context as they fought so hard to bring Hooj back to even part of his former capabilities. Hooj was such a strong, independent man who took care of everybody and most of all Bibi. Bibi has always been the caretaker of not only Hooj but all of the other people in her life. She realizes when Hooj is incapacitated by the fire that her life is bound to him and she can’t imagine going on without him. My heart hurt and so many emotions were felt as I read this epic love story. I prayed and cheered them on to some kind of victory because we all know when you reach a certain age you’ll never go back to the strength of your youth. And they finally came to an acceptable finish where the love that withstood many years and the most horrible of illnesses came through loud and clear.
There is no other author who can wring the kind of emotions that Fanetti can from me. I’ve shed more tears over some of her books than I can count but the stories are the kind I can’t put down once I’ve started.
Holy cow what a beautiful story. Susan is so very good at building the prose in her story I could actually see and feel the love between Hooj and Bibi. True soul mates they are indeed. If you were a fan of Nicholas Sparks' The Notebook you're going to love this book. The best part is that Hoosier and Bibi's story comes with a MC twist which, in my humble opinion, makes it sooooo much better. I love the patience they both had when life threw them a bump in the road. They were both in for the long haul and were not giving up,on each other.
This is a beautiful love story not everyone finds. I could feel it in my bones. I have been married for over 3 decades and the love Susan describes between this beautiful couple so eminates what my husband and I have. Heart wrenching at times. Not always roses and unicorns but true to the bone until death do us part.
If you haven't read the Horde series I so encourage you to do so. Every single one of these books has me feeling every single emotion possible. Every one of the characters are so real I feel like I personally know them. Thank you Susan I'll be sad to see this series ends.

Susan Fanetti’s writing and story-telling ability leave me astounded. This side-trip story was woven seamlessly; blending the past 30-40 years of Hoosier & Bibi’s life, to the struggles that they are currently facing. This book takes place after the gang-related attack that Hoosier & Bibi suffered from, including physical violence & the arson of their home. Hoosier had been injured the worst & was in a coma for a while. When he came out, he couldn’t remember anyone except for Bibi & their son, Conner. His major issue is that he cannot speak and thus he can’t communicate his needs or desires with his wife or nurses.
We get to see how Bibi & Hoosier met, the backstories of their lives before then were given, but not expounded upon, which I feel would have been unnecessary. Hoosier & Bibi are just so unique & different when they meet; it really was a ‘fun’ read. We get to see their early lives together and the different MCs that Hoosier belonged to. The attack that left Bibi unable to have more children was not descriptive, but the condition they found her in was & so were her injuries. We get to see the time when Hoosier was the President of the SoCal Scorpions chapter. There were many years during that time so the readers got to see things from a different POV.
During book 2, Shadow & Soul, which was Demon & Faith’s story, I felt like I needed several varying POVs. I wanted to see the situation from everyone’s angle. What they were put through and suffered was horrific & unforgivable. I wanted to see how Hoosier & Bibi justified it or at least were able to bear witness to it. I wanted to see how Faith’s parents truly dealt with the aftermath of the situation that they forcefully created. I absolutely loved that book and how Faith & Demon were able to overcome. But this part had given me some closure on what I had felt like was missing from the other book and needed to see.
Then, there was the time when Bart was transferred from the Missouri Night Horde MC to the SoCal Scorpions MC. That was such an emotional book for me and left me somewhat sad, but Fanetti weaved Bart into the next books in the Signal Bend series anyways. Then some of the highly, emotionally charged events were talked about, thankfully not in full detail or I may have broken down crying again. That storyline also led to the events of the SoCal Scorpions becoming the SoCal Night Horde.
Then the storyline also moves forward in the present. There isn’t a large part of the MC storyline that moves forward during this time, but I think that makes this book all the better. I am looking forward to the next book, for not only the love story but also for the MC drama that (I think) will start unfolding.
